Camp diva DanaMite is producing her own bumper stickers now & sending them out free of charge. Celebrating 14 years online this Autumn, we still need your support to spread the word on our bitchin' California web site. Slap one on your car window, garage window, truck bumper, ice chest, outdoor gear, or where ever you can make it stick. Got stickers in WHITE, RED, SILVER or BLUE. Who wants one?? Or two?

Wow, lookie here. Summer is almost over and you didn't get enough camping in this season. Luckily our warm weather in California will continue well into October, so you have plenty opportunities to get outside - this weekend, next weekend & next month. All lakes, reservoirs, creeks and rivers are full and flowing well this season. Thunderstorms in the higher elevations are quite common this year. Cool off and refresh with a dip in a Sierra swimming hole, waterfall or lake.

SEPT. 3-6, 2010: Scorching hot, late summer weather means your holiday destination should be coastal or mountains (meaning high elevation). This is the perfect time of year to explore those gorgeous alpine lakes, creeks and waterfalls in the High Sierra. We have put together a list of towns in the upper altitudes, so you can relax, breathe easy, stay local and be cool this 3 day holiday weekend. Heading to the coast? Expect a foggy marine layer in certain areas.

Newly released & updated, waterproof map of Inyo National Forest is finally here - just in time for the spectacular Fall colors in the Eastern Sierra.
In addition, the National Forest Service has run outta several maps this season. Sequoia & Stanislaus National Forests are in very short supply. Total Escape has only a few plastic Stanislaus left in stock & the Sequoia we only have in paper now. Emigrant & Ansel Adams is still outta stock with the USDA, but Tom Harrison has awesome topo maps available for these popular Wilderness areas. Total Escape offers USPS Priority shipping 6 days per week!

Total Escape has been linking to California small town tourism, small business and recreation outfitters for over a decade. We manage over 20,000 external local links inside the golden state. We feature over 600 small towns, focusing more on the remote back roads and less on the tourists traps.
If you are lucky enough to do business in the tourism, outdoor market of California, we wanna hear from you - cuz we definately have your market. Independent lodges, recreation, tour guides, retreats, campgrounds, parks, museums, vistors centers.
Maybe your web site was once recieving traffic from Total Escape and is now not. This could be because we have not heard from you recently. Earlier this year new advertising programs were launched with our upgraded storefront and we now ask that you update business listings with regularly. Create a new account today, be informed and benefit from our excellent web traffic. We push a nearly a million page views per month & average 10,000 unique visitors per day.
Total Escape now offers reciprocal linking for the budget minded!
